Steps to associate a file to see a view of the thumbnail using Irfanview

• Find your image
• Right Click
• Click properties
• Click Change
• Pick the program you would like it to associate with
• If not there click Browse
• Find Program Files (x86) Or
• Find Program Files
• Find Irfanview
• Find the application (you will see the red icon )
• Click, then click open
• The Irfanview will now be in the Recommended Programs
• Highlight the icon
• Click ok

There are several steps but really this is very easy
