  • How to SAVE to Custom Tab

Hello. Can you please review how to save to the custom tab.? I need to save a piece of tile to reuse.

    Thank you

right click on the tile image, choose COPY; then move over to your custom tab (selecting the appropriate sub-category tab), right click again and choose PASTE. Name the item. You're all set to use again.

Question: so when i R click on the image "copy" is grayed out and i cannot select it............

Does it matter that it is a shape that I made vs an imported image?

      Thank you

Yes, you can copy/paste an imported image to the Custom Tab. Just asking, did you make sure the image had the green edit points surrounding it?

In your case with a tile finish, you can create a square or any shape, fill it from the custom tab under Properties>Fill Effects and then save the square to the Custom Tab in the Image Toolbox, just as you would an imported image. Make sure you change the line color to be compatible with the tile color or delete entirely; otherwise you will have a bunch of black lines around all your tiles when you use it in a rendering.
