  • Eye Dropper Tool to select color

My eye dropper tool is not selecting the color that it is hovering over. It is selecting a color that is up and to the left of where the tool is located on the screen. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? I'm using Windows 8.1.

    Hi Dean,

Very strange, the only thing I can think of right now is to uninstall Studio and reinstall Studio. Log into your CustomerHub account to get the download link. How long did your original download take? The normal download time should be no more than 5 -6 minutes. Sometimes when the download takes too long it is possible that the install wasn't completely successful.

When you uninstall make sure in your Program Files (X86) that the Minutes Matter folder is removed before installing Studio again.

Took less than 2 min to download and less than 30 sec to install. Still having the same problem.

Bingo! I right clicked on the desktop screen, clicked on personalize, clicked on display, changed the size of all items from larger to smaller, clicked apply, and now it works.

Hey Dean yes the computer (font) resolution is also something that cannot be changed for our program to work correctly. It has to be the default setting, I am not sure why they give you the other options it makes every program run wrong if you select medium or large.

You did a great job figuring out the problem. The other option was to right click on the Studio icon (raspberry color) and select Troubleshoot that is another thing that Windows 8 users have the option to do.

If I change the size of all items to 125%, it works. Anything larger than that, and it does not work.

OK, found the troubleshooter. Didn't help on the wrong setting though.

                  Hi Dean,

Yay! So it was the font resolution after all. Glad to know that the eyedropper is affected by that setting also. HOWEVER, you need to set your resolution to 100% or when you print your scale will be totally off. Use only the Default resolution!!

BTW, I added an cool avatar for you! You can upload your own image if you like. Click on your name and that will take you to your profile.

Just remember Dean anything other than the default 100% the ruler bars do not show correctly and will not be to scale. As long as you know that and the scale does not matter to you it is fine but I do like my scale to be correct.
