  • Webinars ~ **Jackie Von Tobel Webinar Follow-up**

Thanks to all who attended today's webinar featuring the designs and fabrics of Jackie Von Tobel.

Below are some more examples of how designers can create elevation renderings and floor plans for their local, long distance and Internet clients.

We have used the Photo Knockout tool to add proposed furnishings to the design. And the floor plan demonstrates how the Dimension Tool can be useful in determining if there is adequate space for the eight chairs the client wants! Send the footprint image to the back to see the dining table without the leaf.

Download the file to see how the images are used or to save specific parts to your Custom Tab.

And don't forget to read Jackie's blog
    www.jackiebluehome.blogspot.com
and visit her website to see her lovely fabric and pillow cover collection:

Watch this thread for more information on saving and using samples of Jackie's fabrics.

Attached is a group of files with some of Jackie's fabrics which I used in the window treatments shown today. Create a folder for JVT Fabrics and store them there. Use "as is," do not change the height or width (vertical or horizontal repeat) unless you change the drawing scale.

Re: Jackie Von Tobel Webinar Follow-up

we had a few attendees' questions that we were unable to answer due to time constraints:

Q: How can I make a logo template?
        A:
You can design your own template incorporating your logo if it's in an image format by importing into Studio and adding a banner, text with business name, address, phone, etc. We have a course you can take which shows you exactly how to do this and save it to your Custom Tab in Studio for use whenever you need it:

Q: If I use the logo template, does it reduce the size of the workspace?
A: Yes, it does, but the way to work around that is to go ahead and create your rendering or floor plan. Then convert it to a jpeg version. Open a new file or new page, add your logo template, and then import the jpeg of your rendering, resizing it to fit within the logo template. That way you do not lose any of the detail, the fabric stays in scale, and you have added that professional polish to your presentation. See the examples below.

Q: Where can I see all the Jackie Von Tobel designs?
        A:
The best way to see them is to purchase her book!

Q: Where can I purchase patterns for Jackie's designs?
        A.
Minutes Matter Solutions is working on Instructional Systems for many of Jackie's most popular treatments. Watch your email, our ezine or blog or this Forum for announcements and release dates.

Re: Jackie Von Tobel Webinar Follow-up

A few more questions gleaned from our GoToWebinar attendee report:

Q: Can I show bias fabric on my swags?
          A:
Yes, here's a link to a thread which shows you how to rotate and crop your fabric: http://www.minutesmatterstudio.com/f...bric+Irfanview

Q: Can I run Studio on my Mac?
          A:
Yes, if you have Fusion or Parallels Desktop. We have many Studio users who love their Macs! You can also work "In the Clouds" - https://minutes.infusionsoft.com/app...bcategoryId=63

Q: Is there a way to learn how to edit my photos?
          A:
Yes, we have a Learning CD which helps you work with Photoshop Elements to improve your photos.

Re: Jackie Von Tobel Webinar Follow-up

Q: I love that I can mix and match and use Jackie's designs to create my own unique looks. How can I save a treatment that I've created?
            A:
Use the Custom Tab. After you have pulled together the components you want to use, group everything. Then open the Custom Tab, select Favorites and then click on JVT. Click on the Save Custom icon on the Quick Access tool bar Drag your new design over to the Toolbox. Right click on Title and give your creation a name.

In the example below I have removed the trim and undercurtains from Jackie's Eyebrow Arched Swags and Cascades and saved the new look to the Custom Tab for future use.
