  • Studio Tools ~ Saving Custom Colors

I want to clarify how to save custom colors. First, a custom color can only be saved to specific file while you are working in it. It does not stay in your Studio program to be accessed again and again, nor does it stay with the file after you close it.

To save more than one color using the eyedropper tool, you must use the RGB (red/green/blue) values by selecting the color, jotting down the numbers, and then clicking on an empty white box in the custom color area. Type in the numbers of the color you wish to save, then click Save to Custom when that color appears in the box. See screen shot below. In this example I have touched the colors of the stripes in the rug with the eyedropper tool and saved them to Custom Color.

If you don't click on an empty white box, the color you add will replace the previous color.

The only way you can save multiple custom colors is by clicking on the "rainbow," selecting a color and adding it to Custom. It does not work with the eyedropper tool, whether you're selecting a color from the wheel or from a fabric or other image in your rendering.
