      These are fab! I have been working on creating more shadowing and texture for my renderings to make them more realistic - this is great inspiration!!!

        Here's a little tip for more realistic shadowing: use the gradient fill to create both lighter (the color of the carpet for example) and darker areas of your shadow and then use the transparency bar to blend it in. Go lighter, rather than darker on the transparency, usually under 10 is good., but it depends on the background color of the floor material.

        It's important to first determine the light source and the angle of the light. In one of the drawings from the Kings Lane article, "Transitional Twinset," I thought the shadows appeared in the opposite direction.

        Many times I get lazy and just draw a polygon under the chair but if you look at photos, you'll see some furniture with legs cast different shadows.

          Here is another example of the gradient fill made transparent - the top part of the shadow is dark and the bottom is light to blend/blur into the marble.
